   programms and clientele
Different subsidy programs for special groups (low income households) make up part of the financing of housing cooperatives. According to its program, the cooperative reserves a percentage of its housing units to specific clientele.

development service

Launched in 2004, FECHIMM's cooperative development service has for its mission to support groups wanting to establish a housing cooperative. It can also accompany existing cooperatives who have development projects or who plan on carrying out major maintenance or renovation work.

Our services cover the various stage of a project :

  • Analyzing the needs
  • Legal incorporation as a cooperative
  • Presenting the project to the existing programs (Accès-Logis et Logement Abordable QC)
  • Research and development of formulas with investment from the members
  • Incubation and starting the cooperative enterprise
  • Members' education
  • Administration of the project during the construction or the renovation
  • Support at the start of the operations

Our vision of development includes a respectful approach of the cooperative values and principles. The autonomy and independence of the cooperatives, the democratic carrying-out of power, the education, the training and the information is at the core of all displayed strategies.
